About Axel.nYc

It was love at first sight! Well, kind of. Cait and I are cousins so we’ve known each other our whole lives but when we finally met Walter, we knew; we had the perfect trifecta. We always say — it’s all about the ENERGY, right? Either you have it or you don’t and our spirits just align.

The three of us form a motley crew but we bring our different personality traits, funny quirks, varying perspectives, and differing methodologies together and that’s where the true magic happens. Sometimes we go deep in channeling new digital art forms but other times, we’re just creating something very tactile. It changes every day so we’re especially thankful for our partners and collaborators who continue to believe in our organic approach to creating art, since we’re always trying to explore fresh ideas and bring something new to the table.

If you like what you see here, please send us a note! Would love to meet you and hopefully work together one day. Much love and as Walt always says,

Spread Joy

samantha oh

Whether it was figure skating, playing the cello, or taking photographs, Sam has always desired ways to express herself creatively. Although she occupies herself with her entrepreneurial pursuits during the day, Axel is her way of exploring her big identity questions and connecting with the truest parts of herself as a 2nd generation Korean American female living in New York City.

walter cruz

Walter is a Native New Yorker and Bronx-based artist who has exhibited his solo work both nationally and internationally. He is currently pursuing his MFA at MICA in Baltimore.
Much of Cruz’s work explores the past, present and future of Black, Latinx and People of Color and is inspired by the small interactions of his daily life. As an artist, Cruz believes it’s his responsibilities to tell stories that create possibilities for change in this world. For him, it’s not just about knocking down an existing house — it's about envisioning what the new house that will take its place will look like.
